Editors Note - Jan. 20,2020

As of Today Jan. 20, 2020, this collection has 23 Poets and a copyright free poem for each. As such, it is an Anthology of Gloucester Poetry from 1803 to 1923.

I am unaware of any earlier poems. Additionally, I believe there may be a few other poets that may be included in the Anthology but, as of yet, I have not been able to verify their meeting of the “Rules for Inclusion”. Those poets include:

Stewart Mitchell
Rev Josiah Greene Willis
Richard Henry Dana Sr.
Robert Frost
Frances Sargent Osgood

Within the Table of Contents I have also included a list of 12 more poets, that I believe meet the “Rules of Inclusion”. However, because of their poems publication dates, they require permission from possible copyright owners to be put online.

Additionally, I am researching approximately 25 more poets that most likely meet the “Rules of Inclusion” and I will add them as they are verified.

Rules for Inclusion

The Poet lived in Gloucester even if only as a Summer resident.
and/or
A Poem about Gloucester or a Gloucester related topic.

Any help identifying additional poets, verification of requirements, or help gaining inclusion permission, would be greatly appreciated. Contact me at davepleuler@gmail.com.
