Picturing Garland's Gloucester is a celebration of place. In 1990 the eminent Gloucester Historian published his “Gloucester Guide”. Garland divides the city into nine parts. His historic narratives for these parts, provides a structure for picturing Gloucester. Artists and Photographers do the rest. In keeping with the quadricentennial theme, the aim is to gather 400 great images. 400 images divided by the nine parts of town interestingly results in 44 images per section. As with Gloucesterpedia, Picturing Garland’s Gloucester should be considered “under construction”. Quadricentennial Classroom Quadricentennial Times Quadricentennial Library Digital Babson

Realize of course that Gloucesterpedia is a site under construction. Gloucesterpedia is an attempt to gather the biographies of the notable people of Gloucester. The Primary resource for this endeavor has been the Cape Ann Museum Archives’s Biographical vertical file. As of Mid February 2019, I am currently reviewing the letter “M”.and at the current pace, I hope to complete the task by the early summer. It takes additional time to process the information and place in on to the web. That task I hope will be complete by the Fall of 2019. Even then I’m sure as research provides, Gloucsterpedia will continue to be updated
